Once you and the family are settled into your condo, enjoy some dinner at Mama’s Farmhouse. It offers country style food that truly hits the spot. It is just like sitting around your grandmother’s southern table after Sunday morning church. When you are a guest of Resort Properties Vacations, you receive 1 Free Dinner there too. Good food and a free meal, can’t pass that up while on your Pigeon Forge Family Getaway!
Your first day in town cannot end without enjoying one of the many family friendly shows in town. We would recommend you check out the Comedy Barn or the Smoky Mountain Opry show. The Comedy Barn has been voted the cleanest and funniest show in town for numerous years so rest assured your kids will love it! When it comes to the Smoky Mountain Opry show, think of a smaller Broadway show. They pull out all the stops during this show! Covering most genres of music through dance, song and incredible theatrical acts.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so first, you eat! The all new Brick & Spoon in town offers the best breakfast, brunch and lunch items in town, hands down. Their menu is full of hearty food to get you energized and ready to take on the day.
After a delicious meal, head into the National Park. The Great Smoky Mountains is America’s #1 visited National Park so you simply cannot visit Pigeon Forge without doing some exploring. A favorite and easy hike is Laurel Falls. Laurel Falls is an easy 2.6 mile hike that is paved, making it perfect for families with smaller children and/or strollers. The scenery along the way is beautiful and at the end you will be able to enjoy an 80 foot waterfall!
After spending some time outdoors, head indoors and enjoy the many fun activities that WonderWorks has to offer. This Amusement Park for the mind is a great way to let the kids burn off some energy and feed their minds. Offering more than 100 hands on science exhibits, a rope course, laser tag and a motion ride, kids will love this place. Guests with Resort Properties Vacations receive a free adult admission to this indoor park as well.
After a day of outdoor and indoor exploring, I am sure you will want to feed your appetite. There is no better place to do that than the Local Goat. Only a few years old, this restaurant is now a staple in town. Vacationers and locals dine here as often as they can. They offer an array of delicious menu options. Still have some energy after a busy Day 2? Enjoy some indoor snow tubing at Pigeon Forge Snow! Open year round, this is America’s first indoor snow park and yes, it is real snow. Just show up and enjoy the snow tubing fun!
Many would say that you cannot visit Pigeon Forge and not eat the Old Mill…I have to agree with that statement. The Old Mill has been serving as a long time staple here in town and it is continues to become more and more popular. The menu is extensive and the servings are large…perfect way to wake up and get some energy flowing before heading back home. Before you make your way towards the interstate though, be sure to stop for souvenirs at The Island. They offer a ton of great and unique shops where you are bound to find the perfect gift for those loved ones back home.
We believe this is a great itinerary for a weekend trip and we hope to see you soon for a Pigeon Forge Family Weekend Getaway.
